Skateland of Franklinville

Roller Skating and Rollerblading(inline skating) are great activities for exercise.

Indoor Roller Skating/Blading

For indoor roller skating and roller blading in Cattaraugus County the place to go is Skateland of Franklinville.

Public roller skating has returned to the William O. Smith Rec Center in Olean as of June 2019.  There are a limited amount of rentals, but feel free to bring your own skates or roller blades.  Open skating is available on Fridays, from 6-9 pm, and Saturdays and Sundays, from 12-5pm.  Admission is $1.50 for children, $2 for adults, and $1 rental fee.

Roller Derbys are coming back! We have the Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby that includes several local roller derby teams. Roller Derby teams have practices at Skateland and other places in Western New York.

Outdoor Roller Skating/Blading

For outdoor roller skating and rollerblading, Cattaraugus County has several paved trails:

The Allegheny River Trail is 5.6 miles of paved trail that runs along the Allegheny River and crosses over the western end of Olean, New York and through St. Bonaventure University.

Allegany State Park offers 5.7 miles of paved multi-use trail which circles the Red House area of the park.

The Allegany River Skate Park group is looking to create an outdoor skating park in Allegany.  The Park has been approved by the Allegany Village Board but funds are needed to match grants offered from the Tony Hawk Foundation and the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation.  It is not determined as of yet where the Park will be located, however they are hosting fundraisers throughout the year.  See their Facebook page for information, dates and what you can do to help!
