Art and the Adirondack Chair at Allegany State Park

18 Adirondack Chairs will be on display at various locations around Allegany State Park. These chairs have been painted by area artists and will be auctioned off at a Beach Party on Friday 8/14/09 to benefit the Cattaraugus County Arts Council. There will be music and other activities in addition to the chair auction. The chairs were built with wood donated by Fitzpatrick & Weller and the Home Depot and built by students in the Collins Correctional Facility. More info to come. Horsemanship Through Feel Clinics

The Great Cardboard Boat Regatta�

STARS 32nd Annual Air Show and Rally

S.T.A.R.S., the Southern Tier Aero Radio Society will be hosting its 32nd Annual Air Show and Rally. Each year in July since 1978, the S.T.A.R.S. have held a scale rally. It is one of the largest Radio Controlled Model Aircraft Scale Rallys in New York State and was the first to feature Giant Scale Model aircraft. During the Rally, the airport is closed to full-scale aircraft activity in order to allow the R/C pilots full access to the skies over the 2000+ ft. grass runway. The Rally has attracted modelers from all over the United States and from foreign countries, especially Canada. It features hundreds of different types and sizes of scale aircraft and in recent years has included evening flying of electric models. Reining is a judged event designed to show the athletic ability of a ranch type horse within the confines of a show arena.
