Despite never having reached "peak," it seems that we're already past it. After a lot of rain and wind last week, there are a lot of leaves on the ground. Most of the trees that have held their leaves are still green, so there is more color to come--just not a lot of it.

Approximately 60% of the areas leaves will have changed by this weekend.

We are finally seeing some color on those hills, with approximately 40% changed by this weekend. Although, with the heavy rain we've had (and may continue to have this weekend) many leaves have already fallen.

The Enchanted Mountains are a beautiful mix of orange, gold, rust, crimson and green.

Our leaves are still just beginning to turn, with approximately 20% changed by this weekend.  The Enchanted Mountains are still predominatly green, with subtle accents of gold, rust and crimson. Although a beautiful stage of the Autumn transition, the "brilliance" is still considered average.

It won't be long before we're bundling, shoveling, and (if you're clumsey like me) slipping.

Thankfully, the Enchanted Mountains transition into winter can be breathtakingly beautiful, making it much easier to swallow.
